Everything else came later.
Drew and Peter spent years as friends before either of them imagined they’d one day get married.
Then the pandemic happened.
Living together as a COVID pod slowly changed their relationship into something more. When it came time to celebrate with family, they returned to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs for an intimate ceremony designed around the people they loved most.
Finding the right location wasn’t just about the view. It also needed to keep every member of their family comfortable and included.
This is the story of two best friends who built a celebration around the people who had been there all along.
Their Story
Beautiful wasn’t enough.
Everyone they loved needed to be part of it.
Garden of the Gods has dozens of beautiful places to get married.
But for Drew and Peter, beautiful wasn’t enough.
One of their family members couldn’t spend time in direct sunlight, so we spent an evening together scouting the park before the wedding. We visited five different pull-offs, looking for a place that offered both easy access and enough shade for everyone to comfortably be part of the ceremony.
When we found it, we knew.
It wasn’t just the right view. It was the right place for their family.
The thinking behind it

Why this spot?
One place that felt right.
Instead of spending the morning rushing from one location to another, we kept things simple.
I met them where Drew was getting her hair done, and we drove into Garden of the Gods together. Drew got dressed in a pop-up changing tent in the parking lot before we wandered through the park while it was still quiet.
We watched the sunrise, explored a little, and soaked in the calm before their family arrived.
Once everyone was together, they exchanged vows, invited family members to speak, celebrated with hugs, and spent time taking photographs with the people who had traveled to be there.
The next day, they kept celebrating with friends over beers at a local brewery.
