For Ally and Blake, Colorado wasn't home. It was somewhere they had talked about visiting for years.
Instead of waiting for “someday,” they decided to make their very first trip to Colorado the weekend they got married.

Just the two of them, they spent the weekend slowing down, exploring Rocky Mountain National Park, and focusing on what mattered most: each other and the life they were beginning together.
Snow covered the mountains, the air was crisp, and the park felt quiet in a way only winter allows.
Their Story
“Actually...we’d really love to go here instead.”
So we changed it.
Well...we didn't. At least, not exactly.
We had spent weeks building a thoughtful timeline before they ever arrived in Colorado. Then, the morning of their elopement, we were standing at their Airbnb when they looked at me and said, “Actually...we'd really love to go here instead.”

Because we'd already spent so much time planning, I knew exactly how that decision would affect the rest of the day. I knew how long it would take to get there, when the light would be best, and how to adjust everything else without feeling rushed.
A few changes later, we weren't just back on track. We somehow created enough time to watch the sunset from two different locations in Rocky Mountain National Park.
We carefully walked onto a frozen lake for portraits, found quiet overlooks with hardly another person around, and gave ourselves the freedom to enjoy each stop instead of racing to the next one.
Planning isn't about following a timeline. It's about creating one that's flexible enough to change when something feels more right.

A few days later, Ally and Blake flew home for Christmas.
Instead of announcing they had gotten married, they wrapped one of their favorite photographs from the day and added it to their family's White Elephant gift exchange.
As luck would have it, their gift was the very last one opened. Their marriage became the grand finale of the game.
Later they told me they couldn't have planned it any better.
Honestly...I don't think I could have either.
